Composey Music: Bio

Liz Camozzi, aka Composey, is a singer-songwriter and music educator in the Twin Cities, MN. While home with her family in 2020, she began to write music on humanitarianism, gender diversity, environmental and social activism, mindfulness and social-emotional awareness. Liz began to share her music on Twitch as Composey in the fall of 2020. She actively worked to create a wholesome and inviting space for all and has been named an ally within the LGBTQ community as well as the Indigenous community.

/In 2022, she released, “Be Human” with her bandmate Ellie Compton and Greg Schutte on drums, recorded at Minnehaha Recording Studios. She is soon to release her second album aimed for children of all ages, “Glad to be Me!” on all streaming services in the spring of 2024. She worked with Jeff McClelland, known as Jerfothemusicaddict on Twitch, where she met him while streaming music.

Her mission as a cis-het ally is to create safe and hopeful spaces through her music. Liz’s listeners have supported her in building her studio and funding an album to share on a larger platform. “Be Human,” a 12-track LP, was released May 6, 2022: https://composey.bandcamp.com/album/be-human

Testimonials

Liz is nothing but a joy to work with. her energy and love is present in every song we record. I knew from the moment we met we would be a great team and she would be such a lovely person to collaborate with. Her easy-going energy makes our sessions breeze by and her attention to detail and drive to show the world what she can do makes her music incredibly intentional. I always leave sessions with Liz reminded why I love my job – she makes it incredibly fun!

Liz’s songs are the musical equivalent of a warm hug from an old friend. They can give you a needed pick-me-up when you’ve had a bad day, or they can provide a bit of affirmation after you’d had a good one.

Composey seems to have a songwriting style that is all positive, inclusive and makes you feel she’s written for the listener. I found her songs to be gender-neutral, family-friendly and very cozy and welcoming. I have not heard another songwriter who draws the listener in so easily with songs that make her the ultimate ally to any group of people while entertaining so well. I describe it as a conscientious folk-pop genre of music that is beautiful and super pleasing to the ears.

Liz’s gift for music helped our ministry get through the pandemic. Children danced along as we discovered ways to be ourselves, tended to our emotions, and advocated for others. Each week Liz unveiled an original song from her treasure trove, matching the lyrics to our story time theme and the realities of life. Joy-filled, hopeful, powerful, and silly, Liz’s songs found their way into our hearts and homes.

Composey will charm you with her sweet harmonies and catchy melodies. Her message is one of peace, understanding, and hope and we would all benefit from more of that in our daily lives.
